the monitor slowly become brighter. In a virtual city where you find a place to rest your mind.
The machine's sound making the gentle summon. Abandoned the imperfect reality of body flesh, leap out the windows of reality. Open the transparent wings and fly towards the moon. Search the perfect of a worldly paradise. Across the world till its end by following my hunches. Rode on fantasy's wind and scattered countless of light.KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.comBlogger31125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-39033787461721797382010-06-10T01:16:00.007+08:002010-06-10T01:31:10.929+08:00It's finally out: Lady Gaga - Alejandro

It's finally out .... the darkness, Nazi, death, sex, religion, homosexual ... you want controversial? Maybe some of you do, but not me. So I wasn't expected anything when I go into the cinema, especially if you know the director previous movie is Pink Panther ... you wouldn't even put hope on it.

But I was totally wrong. Date Night was one of the good comedy I've seen these years, I'll never thought a movie can be made like this.

I think maybe because I like to see serious people in hilarious situation? + 1 for the creative actors and actress in this movie.KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-1416358091054899722009-07-13T00:20:00.004+08:002009-07-13T00:25:55.394+08:0011 years old student Zhang YaoYin killed by her teacher Li HengYi
Two years ago, 11-year-old Zhang Yaoyin was beaten with a metal bar and thrown from her fourth-floor classroom by her history teacher. On Monday a Chinese chat forum dug up and posted a graphic news report about the incident, reigniting the debate about how such a tragedy came to pass.

The girl, from Yongzhou City, Hunan province, was brutally killed as her secondary school classmates looked on. Her 28-year-old assailant, Li Hengyi, was convicted of murder, but evaded a jail sentence because he was found to be schizophrenic. Although his parents were made to pay a 20,000 yuan medical bill (around €2,100) for the research into their son's mental condition, there was no criminal charges. Eleven-year-old Zhang Yaoyin's mother disputed the sentence, demanding to know how a "mental patient" got a job looking after children. Which is what webusers are asking after a news report originally posted on Youku.com was picked by dzh.mop.com on Monday. The clip contains footage of bloodstains in the classroom where the girl was attacked, and images of her clothes, covered in flies, lying outside the school. It has provoked an emotional response online, where webusers have taken on the investigation themselves, asking whether Chinese schoolteachers are properly vetted for psychopathic tendencies. A secondary school teacher in the country says no.

Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Kvxk9Lpwgg&feature=related

KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-44818299706604110092009-07-05T14:01:00.004+08:002009-07-05T15:37:59.828+08:00Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
A few days ago I got a free ticket to watch "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" after watching it, man I can say I am glad it is free.

First of all, the whole film is full of dirty jokes, just like the American Pie. Frankly speaking, it is hard for me to laugh at such jokes anymore at this age. Soon I have discover, because this movie's target are those teenage audiences, this can explain why Megan Fox playing in it. I am just too old for this kind of movie.

I remember in the film there's a slut try to seduce Shia LaBeouf, and later he found out that she was a mechanical monster. I am sure the director did study or watch some old style Hong Kong movies before, else how possible a normal person come out with such an outdated idea?

The Decepticons intends to obtain the energy of the sun by destroy the Earth, Autobots trying hard to stop them. But I really like to ask, in the universe, there's so many sun, why must they choose the Earth's sun? And have you not thought about it? You can destroy our sun from other planets as well, not neccessary earth. Why not just say Decepticons hate the Autobots, so they come all the way to retaliate? Isn't this is much more convincing than the idea they try to steal our sun which is actually plenty in the universe? From here, we can see that the director did not care about the storyline, so long as the more visual effects, the more explosive scenes, the more beautiful boobs, and more missiles shooting.

American politics in general is divided into hawks faction and doves faction. Hawks advocated the use of force to wipe out the enemy; doves promote to be peace with other countries. United States President Barack Obama is in the doves faction. Transformers movie is talking about Obama afraid of getting into trouble, so he send a clown to stop the militarization of the fight against enemies of the transition. And when the enemy attack, Obama is the first one who escape. The film is indirectly hinting: if you does not try to eradicate the enemy, it will only end up being bullied by them at the end. Doves faction such as Obama are just another name of coward.

I do not so agree with the ideas the director Michael Bay. First of all, many enemies of the United States, are unlike the movie, evil by nature. They are all long-term accumulation of dissatisfaction and grievances before the outbreak. (Of course, it does not include a some of rogue countries.) Hillary Clinton (now U.S. Secretary of State) also said that many parts of the world before the terrorist organizations are acquired indirectly by the United States, and now they are just bite the feeder (United States). The U.S. government do have responsibility on them. They need time to gradually resolve the grievance, as well as solving the former mess left by the previous, Hillary also take the initiative visited other countries (that normally U.S will not visit) to show the current government is different from the previous.

Even if they are able to kill all the enemies, does this mean the world will be peace? As long as they never change, there will be always someone unhappy with them. An eye for an eye, will just create more resentment.

If everyone thinks the way like the director of Transformers, thinking everyone is trying to harm my home country. I certainly think we shall never achieve world's peace. A small film, sometimes can contains a lot of hidden political awareness.

More reading:
a. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1055369/
b. http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090623/REVIEWS/906239997/1023KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-20075360737745939872009-07-01T23:17:00.007+08:002009-07-02T00:12:34.098+08:00Should English subject become compulsory pass for SPM?
These few weeks Malaysian people are talking about making English subject to be mandatory pass in SPM. 99% of the people that I know do agree it should be compulsory pass, because English is important according to them.

I guess I am the minor 1% people who object this decision, most people object this because they are not comfortable with English, which is not my reason here. Previously I strongly agree to make Science and Math subject to use English language, but on the other hand, I do not agree turning it into a mandatory pass subject in SPM.

SPM initial purpose was to test the general ability of the student, see what they are strong at and what the are weak at. Using this result, it work as a guideline telling the student which direction they should go, if you are good in art subject, maybe you should take art course in the university; if you are good in accounting subject, maybe you should take finance related course in the university.

SPM suppose to act like a general examination, in a general examination, it is extremely ridiculous to set which subject must be pass. Because everyone's ability is different and unique in this world, does someone weak in a language subject mean he/she does not deserve to further study in university? How about someone who is very good in art, but very weak in language subject, should the art course in the university reject this student because he/she does not pass the mandatory subject?

Maybe you will say: "Who will possibly fail English? It is so easy!"

Perhaps you have forgotten many scientists and famous people in this world (such as: Albert Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci, Napoleon Bonaparte, Tom Cruise ... ) are borned with Learning Disorder, especially dyslexia (reading disorder). These people mostly having the same or even better intelligent with normal people, but they will have difficulties to to read and write, some even cannot differentiate the the alphabet such as 'p' and 'q', 'b' and 'd'. The bad things is ... learning disorder is not something rare among human race.

Few days ago I have read magazine that a Master student with dyslexia, he can only write about 25 words each day to finish his thesis. At the end he did it though and pass. But come back to SPM, do you think someone who is talented and suffer from dyslexia able to finish an English essay for SPM in given time?

The main purpose of Education is to find out the strength and weakness of the student and guide his path based on his/her interest. Making any subject to be MANDATORY in a general examination is no different than killing the child's real potential.

Many parents will feel that English is important around the world so their children must learn English. By forcing education to be a job hunting tool, do you think children will love what they are doing? How about next few years Chinese language become popular? These parents going to drop all English subject and change again? And nobody asking what their children like or interest in? These actually explain why so many youngsters start to feel schooling is useless, the more you study, the more you just become a mindless robot, and this is what happen to our university graduates.

My point is: stop implant our never-become-true dream into our children, you die to be a doctor doesn't mean your children are!

more reading:
a. Many object to making English a ‘must pass’ SPM subject
b. Make English a compulsory pass subject for SPM, STPM and matriculation to end and reverse the unchecked decline of English standard in the country in the past three decades
c. Time not right for SPM English passKKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-22906754545765437632009-06-26T15:00:00.002+08:002009-06-28T00:53:02.227+08:00Death of Neda Agha-SoltanOn June 20 2009, at city of Tehran, around 6.30pm, Neda with her music teacher (Hamid Panahi) and other 2 friends were on the way to participate the protest of the outcome of the 2009 Iranian presidential election.

Unfortunately, she got shot in the chest by plain-clothes Basij paramilitaries while she stand outside of the car watching the mass protests. Some of the famous japanese actors/actress also take a role in the film, such as Koji Yakusho, Satoshi Tsumabuki, Anna Tsuchiya.

I was touched after watching this film. It's true that sometimes what a children want is just a good story, instead of expensive toys. However I feel the visual effect is a bit over, it should be reduce as his work 'Kamikaze Girls'. This director is famous to produce beautiful film with sad ending, so I am prepared before I go into the cinema, but apparently most audience is not, so I can heard some people cried in the cinema.

The story is actually similar to [Big Fish] and [Pan's Labyrinth]. Why the more we get, the less happier we are? Everyone have their own problem, so who can help them?

This is what the movie "Breath In, Breath Out" trying to tell. Seven young people (4 girls and 3 guys) went to Japan's Okinawa Island to work as a part-time sugarcane harvester. They never met each other before, and they each have a story behind them that they want to run away from (except the main actress, she really just want a special part-time job).

They work together, eat together, and stay in a same house together for 35 days. It's embarrassing at the beginning to stay and work with strangers, soon later the story of each person slowly revealed, everyone is just equal, nobody is better than others, all of them can't even resolve their own problem. On this desolate island, what they can do is just support each other and facing themselves honestly.

The movie can be conclude with a little story:

Daugther: Tomorrow is the swimming competition, I am nervous here.
Father: Before you start, take a deep breath first.
Daugther: Does deep breath increase my speed, make me win?
Father: No, but you will be more relax and enjoy.

The next day, the daugther got the last place, but she indeed is more relax and enjoy.

Our life are nasty to us, it is full of darkness, pain, sorrow, bore, helpless ... these are the fact that we cannot change at all, but ... you must remember to relax and take a deep breath.

This, is how the movie theme come by. The necessity to take a deep breath, especially when you are down.

KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-65980828392004442272009-06-19T14:25:00.003+08:002009-07-01T23:03:45.209+08:00Change MyKad (IC) address @ Maju Junction Mall 6th floor JPN
Tuesday around 3pm I went to JPN (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara, National Registration Department) at Maju Junction Mall (locate at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, can be reach if you take monorail and stop at Medan Tuanku) to change my MyKad's address, when I reach there, not many people around, so I guess it is a good thing go there during weekday, remember they open until 5.30pm.

Things that you need to prepare to change address of your MyKad:
1. She took a taxi and during the way she chat with the taxi driver about his work. The taxi driver mention that each day, he had to pay around rm250 (which is around rm6000-7000 a month) to cover the cost of taxi license rental fee and petrol. After my friend calculation, she found out that he probably need to work more than 10 hours non-stop to break even, remember it is not making profit, just break even.

To make matters worse, for those who are not belong to airport taxi team, he can't pick up any passenger from the airport, he can only set them off from the city to airport. Which mean he would have to go back city in an empty car.

After a long period of suffering and enduring, you are not suprise that the taxi here had build up some law-breaching bad habbits. Take an example, in most taxi hot-spot places(such as shopping mall), you will notice that most taxi will decline to use taxi meter and charged consumer over-price. This is because the taxi meter does not reflect the "taxi license rental fee" which indirectly paid by the consumer at the end.

As you can see, there are mainly two causes of this problem:

First, because the government's "cronies" able to get all the taxi license from JPJ. Those taxi drivers who want to work will have to rent it from the "cronies" that own it. Taxi driver never own a license for their work, in another word, the need not to responsible for their professional. If you understand this, there's no wondering why taxi driver over-charge their fee, and have a bad attitude towards their customers.

Second, some taxi companies and drivers are over protect their business territory. Example KLIA is about an hour from the city. If normal taxi are only allow to drive passenger there and not allow to pick up passenger at airport, they are pretty much wasting their petrol actually, plus the customers have to pay more to go KLIA. All these happen because of selfishness that certain people want to keep their profit high. In some area, taxi that from outside area is forbit to pick up passengers, this over protected act, will only cause our society to loss at the end.

The first ever step to solve the plight of taxi service in Malaysia, is to have fair distribution of taxi license to the public, eliminate the territory protection of taxi driver, and force all taxi drivers must responsible for their license and their professional code of conduct.KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-29811986742090414082009-06-06T19:54:00.005+08:002009-06-06T20:13:34.970+08:00Top 10 netbooks from PCWorld.com
Many Malaysians still doesn't aware that Asus and Acer already become the world's top brand for netbook (mini notebook, small laptop).

Here's the ranking list from PCWorld.com for netbooks:

1. Hillary Clinton acknowledged that the United States too had a share in creating the problem that plagues Pakistan today. Problems we face now to some extent we have to take responsibility for, having contributed to it. We also have a history of kind of moving in and out of Pakistan, she said.

Lets remember here the people we are fighting today we funded them twenty years ago and we did it because we were locked in a struggle with the Soviet Union.

They invaded Afghanistan and we did not want to see them control Central Asia and we went to work and it was President Reagan in partnership with Congress led by Democrats who said you know what it sounds like a pretty good idea lets deal with the ISI and the Pakistan military and lets go recruit these mujahideen.

And great, let them come from Saudi Arabia and other countries, importing their Wahabi brand of Islam so that we can go beat the Soviet Union.

And guess what they (Soviets) retreated they lost billions of dollars and it led to the collapse of the Soviet Union.

So there is a very strong argument which is it wasnt a bad investment in terms of Soviet Union but lets be careful with what we sow because we will harvest.

KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-17015546618088994932009-05-31T00:27:00.006+08:002009-06-06T18:12:57.816+08:00What is the 'Dust' in the movie Golden Compass?
For those who have physic background, take a look at the picture above, probably you would have understand what 'Dust' are even without watching the Golden Compass movie.

But for people like me who not very good in physic, I don't even understand what 'Dust' are they mention in Golden Compass, until I watch Angels and Demons recently.

Well, in the movie Angels and Demons, they keep mentioning of anti-matter, particle, begin of universe those kind of things. Suddenly it struck to me the other name for 'Dust' is particle. Now look again dialogue between Mrs. Coulter and Lyra:

Mrs. Coulter: Perhaps we shouldn't have invited Professor Docker. He's such a bore, isn't he?
Lyra: And he had sauce in his beard.
Mrs. Coulter: But he is one of the foremost experts on particle Metaphysics. Have I told you what a particle is?
Lyra: Oh I know about particles. Like dust. That's a particle isn't it?
Mrs. Coulter: Dust?
Lyra: I mean the dust from the space. That dust. Like in the north.
Mrs. Coulter: Where do you hear about that?
Lyra: It must be one of the scholars at Jordan.
Mrs. Coulter: A wise person knows, Lyra, there are some thing we best ignored. Subjects that you ... well ... never speak about.

So you can see, for someone like me who doesn't know physic, obviously that 'Dust' they mention in the Golden Compass is related to particle in physics, and it is related research of the origin of the universe. Read more from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Higgs_boson.

My guess is, the 'Dust' is related to origin of the universe and the church is forbid greatly to prevent people even talk about it. Golden Compass is actually a physic hide inside a fairy tale, they even mention in the movie 'many worlds parallel with Lyra's world' ... that's parallel universe theory in physic as well.KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-21589618015314007492009-05-24T23:44:00.008+08:002009-05-26T22:15:49.161+08:00Good bye to Edie Britt in Desperate Housewives

Just watched the Desperate Housewives Season 5 Episode 19 where Edie Britt finally gone, it was a touched ending. If you think Malaysian couldn't produce a good musical movie, then you are wrong, actually I think they sing quite well, at least out of what I expected. But ... I have to say the director try to put too many things/theme inside, making the story line is weak, and the character building is vague. The director should learn not to making film that only he can understand, try to learn from recent commercial film like Wolverine or He is just not that into you, both have good story telling ability and they focus on a theme. After you have brush up your story telling skill, only you play around with your art and personal style.

All these weaknesses doesn't change the fact it is a hilarious film, there's a moment I feel intimate with it because of the jokes that only Malaysian can understand. Example the part where you can't find sales assistants in shopping centre, even if you found one, he'll answer I don't know anything, the part where when you called the bank customer service, all the stupid procedural questions is what you get, the part where everybody crazy for reality show and audience SMS to decide who win, the part where when talk about government, even near death person will silent, we Malaysian are getting too used to be silent when come to politics.

We know what is Hong Kong style of jokes, British style of jokes or even America style of jokes, but it seems that we lack of Malaysia style of jokes, I believe Sell Out is the first pioneer who did this.

None the less, I also wonder, is the 'Dreamer Eric' and 'Practical Eric' a symbolic for the director that he quit his high pay job and choose to be a poor director? There's always a time in our life that we have to choose to be dreamer or be practical isn't it?

All and all, it's still quite a funny creative with mocking dialogue's film. I especially like the songs, wish I can listen to it again.KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-8353321101545931432009-05-13T14:53:00.005+08:002009-05-13T15:07:48.227+08:00In support of the Pulau Tengah's stray dogs
About the Pulau Tengah stray dogs left to dead incident, you can click here to support and donate: http://www.mycen.com.my/rescue/index.htmlKKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-14314931024230695852009-05-04T01:31:00.005+08:002009-05-04T02:18:05.997+08:00Knowing VS City of Ember, Believer VS Non-Believer

VS

Recently I've watched 2 movies which I think actually have opposite opinions in religion.

Let me briefly tell the story of Knowing and City of Ember:

Knowing - Lucinda the little girl can heard the alien voice and write down some numeric in a piece of paper which later discover by Cage. Cage discover actually these numbers are related to many important disasters on earth, and the last date is the disaster that end all man kind. There is no way this disasters or the end of earth can be stopped. The only way is to listen it and to accept it.

City of Ember - Doon and Harrow notice the Ember City is start to become old and shortage of daily supplies and electricity. They went to investigate to find out the truth which is forbidden by this city members as it is the tradition that nobody goes out or question the city builder. They soon find out actually the no longer exist city builder already planned the city will be expired after 200 years, and he already prepared the escape plan, just nobody ever notice it. With courage and curiosity, Doon and Harrow went to find out the escape route to the outer world.

By reading the synopsis, have you get the idea what this 2 movies are talking about? Knowing is saying everything is planned by God and nothing you can do to change it, even the list of people who can enter heaven are listed long time ago (I knew this cause I was a christian before).

City of Ember is saying regardless who build this world, when this world is in danger, the only way to solve it is by investigate, find out the problem and fix it. Praying the God, singing to the God or just stand there reading the God's Holy Book will not help the world at all, action talk louder than voice.

Personally my stand is on City of Ember, I believe the world can only be saved if we take action together, not waiting the dooms day come and let alien fetch my kid away. I don't believe the kid will ever happy in the new Garden of Eden, do you feel happy if alien bring you away from your parents where you know they will all die except you?KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5652932197818841768.post-29323426284869251482009-05-01T20:04:00.009+08:002009-05-04T13:49:03.505+08:00All-Natural Cleaning Solutions
Lemon:

Use Them to Clean Your…

Countertops: Dip the cut side of a lemon half in baking soda to tackle countertops; wipe with a wet sponge and dry. After you discover it is not real, you get disappointed, and become the laugh stuff among peers. Come to think of it, who really get benefits from this lie? I think nobody did.

The kids put so much hope on that day, greedily list down/hoping what he/she desire, but most case what they get is what their parents afford to (lucky for those rich kids). Most of the time, they don't get what they wish for. Poor kids get disappointed for nothing.

So here's the question, who really benefits from this lie? The parents or the kids? If you say the the parents, they have to make a story and cover their lie and spend money to buy the gifts, and all the credit have to go to Santa Claus, I don't see how parents actually benefits from this. If you say the kids, yeah they got a gift ... which more like an illusion actually, they happy for something that they think is real.

The real answer is, nobody actually benefit from the lie, both the one who lie and the victim actually did not get anything good from this white lie.

So here is my Santa Claus Syndrome definition: One side telling a white lie which actually want to benefit everyone initially and the listener believe it was true. But at the end, both party also did not get any benefit.

Example:

a. A guy lie he will call the girl after the first date, after few days waiting, the girl grew impatience and start to stalk the guy.

b. A bank kindly approve a house loan which one person actually not that qualified, but he has a good credit record, at the end, that person can't pay the loan and have to auction it.

c. A politician candidate bluff a bit how he can help the voters building a better country, everyone vote for him, turn out it didn't happen, and that politician get all the bad name.

d. Production line called the supplier to get more material for an urgent order, the supplier promise he can do it, but of course actually he can't, at the end, factory can't send out the product on time and they won't use this supplier anymore.

e. Government try to cover the epidermic, people believe it and this cause more people to die and government being accused of being uncapable.

f. Student take business course believe he can become enterpreneur, the college happily accept him, of course at the end he won't automatically become enterpreneur right after he graduate.

So from the example we can see, Santa Claus Syndrome is also Fake Hope Syndrome. How to cure it? First of all, be honest and stop lying or at least think twice before lying. Second, have some COMMON SENSE! If a guy/girl didn't call you at all after first dating, stop dreaming. If your salary and saving can't afford the house, stop dreaming. If any politic candidate promise something, please consider is it within his capability before you really vote him, else you are the one who get upset only.

Fundamental line is, be rational about your expectation, do more research before doing decision, and stop LYING because you want to make things better. Lying is like drinking poison and persuade yourself it is soda coke.KKSIMhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10997854387060193240noreply@blogger.com0
