There was once a little girl, where her parents die from a traffic accident, she survived but her memory can only retain for a day, everyday she will forgot what was happened yesterday. She even forgot her parents were dead, and she memory still left on the day of her birthday, so everyday she think she's on birthday, she took out the book that her mother give her as gift and read out loudly: "Ribbit Ribbit, the Toad Prince is a selfish prince ..."

She met all kind of strange patients, nurses and even a doctor who dream to be Peter Pan in the hospitals. A wealthy but eccentric old man especially dislike her, refuse to give her seat and talk against her, but after comprehend of her situation, the old man start to soften gradually, and decide to call everyone in the hospital to play the drama of the little girl's story book within her counted time here ...


Don't look down at the childish storyline, it was directed by Japan famouse director Tetsuya Nakashima, some of his works include Kamikaze Girls (Shimotsuma Monogatari), Memories of Matsuko (Kiraware Matsuko no Isshou). Some of the famous japanese actors/actress also take a role in the film, such as Koji Yakusho, Satoshi Tsumabuki, Anna Tsuchiya.

I was touched after watching this film. It's true that sometimes what a children want is just a good story, instead of expensive toys. However I feel the visual effect is a bit over, it should be reduce as his work 'Kamikaze Girls'. This director is famous to produce beautiful film with sad ending, so I am prepared before I go into the cinema, but apparently most audience is not, so I can heard some people cried in the cinema.

The story is actually similar to [Big Fish] and [Pan's Labyrinth]. Those who are interested should watch all 3 of them.
